Sad, Sad, Sad

I normally don't worry too much about the antics of celebrities, but the situation with Britney Spears is just the biggest train wreck I've seen in a while.  It would be bad enough if it were just your normal everyday person on the street with these issues, but her issues are fed by a media frenzy that defies description.  In a way I feel sorry for her and her family.  On the other hand, I think she's getting everything she deserves, and not soon enough.

The ones suffering... her kids.  Innocent, but will suffer the consequences of actions of this child...um, woman?  Too much money and too much freedom and no one around to help them develop a sense of personal accountability or maturity to handle themselves makes for a bad combination.  Not to mention that those closest to them are usually the ones egging on the behavior because they are better able to manipulate them.

Sad, sad state of affairs.  I hope she gets her act together before she ends up in the same boat as say Owen Wilson, or worse - Jim Belushi or River Phoenix.
