I admit it, I am a total book Ho. My mouth is watering in anticipation of the new John Grisham -

(comes out next week!) and I just saw where my new favorite author, David Baldacci, has another release in April - The Whole Truth.

I will be in total law and political thriller heaven!
I have broadened my horizons. I still love my romances, but now that I am writing them, I don't read them at the same voracious rate I used to. I was never one much for romantic suspense, unless it was NORA of course! To me, that was the equivalent of going to a scary movie - I DON'T DO SCARY MOVIES! Poltergeist about did me in when I was a freshman in high school. I have never seen a Stephen King movie, nor have I read a Stephen King horror story. I don't think catching pieces of Carrie really count as watching the whole thing.
Now, his book,

is a whole other topic entirely. It I have read and LOVED. Gives a whole new spin on his subjects. But, I digress, as I tend to do.
However, I realized that I no longer have nightmares about the goings on in the books I read. Watching suspense and horror is different than reading it, I guess. As a result, I have devoured suspense novels like crazy (political, romantic, paranormal, etc.)
Exposure to a whole new crop of authors and exploration of some of my old favorites in a new light. Or maybe, the nightmare of my life in the past year was able to pale in comparison... Hmmm. I'll have to ask my shrink about that. (I don't really have one, but maybe I should.)
So, tell me, have you broadened your horizons in any way lately?
