Take That
People may think I'm weird after this post. (They may already, but what's a girl to do about that?) I loved the movie Stardust. It is worth the whole thing just to see Robert De Niro. I became enamored with the love theme from the movie. (You can hear a 30 second teaser on my MySpace page. I know, I'm strange, but I love that song!) However, you cannot get it on the U.S. version of the soundtrack. What's up with that?!
I found the band that sings it. Take That. Apparently it is a band that has been around for a while but is experiencing a bit of a comeback. I was listening to their "greatest hits" and recognized some of their songs. One is "Back for Good." I really liked it back...whenever. They are on a major label (Polydor). But, you cannot buy their album or download it from iTunes in the United States. I finally figured out how to order it from amazon.co.uk I may be completely shocked when I get the bill because it was calculated in British Pounds. No telling what the conversion rate is. But, I will not fret...much. I finally found it! I didn't buy the soundtrack to Stardust, because I decided I like the sound of this group. I bought their new release (which includes the song I want - Rule the World.) It is coming airmail, so it will probably arrive while I'm in Albuquerque the week of the 28th. Bummer. I would really like to listen to it with my MP3 on the plane, in my hotel room, etc. I will have lots of time to kill.
Notice I didn't mention exercising... I really need to think about packing something to work out in. I won't know a soul since no one could manage to get into the same hotel!
I also gave in to my obnoxious need to be technologically current this week. I bought a new laptop. It's my dad's fault. He bought his wife a new one for Christmas. But, since he doesn't know what he is doing, he had me order it from Dell. Mistake. I caught the fever. Now, let me say it was a necessary purchase, but I could have put it off. My current laptop doesn't seem to want to recognize when the power charger is plugged in so it won't charge the battery. Not to mention it won't recognize power and allow you to turn it on. PERIOD. You have to mess with the power cord - twisting, turning, unplugging, plugging it in until it decides to accept that you mean it and will then turn on. This is all my kid's fault. She was taking it into her room at night to chit chat and mess with her MySpace page, tossing it around, putting it on the floor, etc. It worked just fine until she started using it. Now she will be cursed with it. HAHAHA!
I'll be happy. It's lighter than my "old" one and will be all shiny and new. I bought the bones, because I already have all the software I need. I can't wait.
