End of School Year Blues...

I just realized it has been more than two weeks since I blogged.  Well, I'm still out here in writer land, just haven't been very dedicated to the craft of late.  The last month of school is always crazy - concerts, recitals, banquets, and various and sundry other activities.  Last week my son had a recital and a concert, this week his Eighth Grade Awards ceremony.  There was a banquet after, but we skipped spaghetti prepared for the masses in favor of Red Lobster!.

I am truly bummed because my baby starts high school in 3 months.  I mean, like exactly 3 months and 1 day from now!  It is depressing.  What really gets me is that he wants to go to summer school to get a class out of the way.  I'm not complaining here.  I'm just...amazed.  It sure is better than him sleeping all day, playing video games, watching TV, and being on the computer all day!  He's not a sports boy, so total isolation could have been a possibility!

He does have a better handle on his future goals than his sibling has/had though.  That gives me hope.  I know it won't be drama free.  He is still a teenager after all.  But, we won't have the female hormone issues. Actually, I'll just be introduced to a whole new set.  Once girls discover him, I think we're toast.
